Wii selling hits 35 millions!

I’m not surprised when i read about this news, because it’s obviously wii will outsell PS3 and Xbox360. The price of PS3 and Xbox360 is too inhuman for me, and i think they aren’t consumable too for majority of the gamers in Indonesia. Anyway, here is the official news:

In its latest financial report, Nintendo reported it had sold just under 35 million Wiis since the console’s late 2006 launch. That figure was for combined international sales in all territories including North America, Europe, and Asia–through September 30, 2008. The milestone came several months after the Wii overtook the Xbox 360 in lifetime-to-date sales in the US, according to industry-research firm the NPD Group.

Now Nintendo’s plucky platform has hit a new sales milestone across the Pacific Ocean. Via its Famitsu magazine, Japanese industry-research firm Enterbrain is reporting that Wii sales have exceeded 7 million units in the island nation as of last week. The console’s sales were boosted past this latest barrier by the launch of Animal Crossing: City Folk, which sold over 303,000 units during the week of November 17-23, according to Enterbrain’s estimates.

The Wii’s 7 million sales put it far ahead of its foes in the ongoing console conflict in Japan. According to Enterbrain figures quoted by GameDaily, Japanese sales of the PlayStation 3 numbered just 2.37 million units as of September 30, when the Wii had sold around 6.83 million units in the territory. Sony estimates the PS3 sold nearly 17 million units worldwide by the same date.

Unfortunately for Microsoft, the Xbox 360 continues to struggle in Japan despite massive marketing efforts. Enterbrain’s estimate had less than 750,000 units of the console being sold in territory since its 2005 launch. Worldwide to date, the console has sold over 25 million units, more than the original Xbox.

NDS selling at the speed of light!

Well, that’s the truth apparently. Here is the official news:

According to data from M-Create, the DS Lite has sold an average of 166,818 units a week from April 10 to June 11, while the PSP has been relegated to an average of 29,307 units in the same time period. Even more impressive is that fact that the the original (bulky, ugly) DS outsold the PSP at the same time that the DS Lite was on the market. Of course, hardware sales don’t mean much unless people are buying games, and the Japanese game charts also boast some impressive sales for Nintendo. Ten titles have reportedly sold more than a million copies.

As of September 26, 2007, the Nintendo DS has sold over 50 million units and is the fastest-selling handheld game console of all time. On October 30, 2007, Chart-Track reported DS sales of over 4 million in the United Kingdom. In November 2007, Media Create reported DS sales of 20 million in Japan.

During the week of November 18 to November 24, Nintendo of America set a new Nintendo sales record by selling over 653,000 DS units in one week, breaking the previous record held by the Game Boy Advance, which sold 600,000 units.

On November 27, 2007, Nintendo announced that the DS has set a new weekly hardware sales record in the UK, with over 191,000 units sold, according to Chart-Track; breaking the previous record held by the PSP, which sold 185,000 units in its first week of availability in the UK.

As of December 27, 2007, the DS has sold over 1 million units in South Korea, according to Nintendo of Korea.

In 2007, the DS was the best-selling game console in the US and Japan with 8.5 million and 7,143,702 units sold respectively, according to the NPD Group and Enterbrain. In Europe, the DS sold 6.4 million units in 2006 and 8.7 million in 2007, according to estimates by Electronic Arts.

On January 24, 2008, Nintendo Europe has revealed the DS has sold over 20 million units in Europe.

On January 30, 2008, Nintendo Australia announced the DS has sold over 1 million units in Australia.

As of June, 2008, The Nintendo DS has sold over 20 million units in the U.S.A, according to NPD Group.

As of September 2008, the Nintendo DS has sold 7.1 million units in the UK, according to GfK Chart-Track.

As of October 1, 2008, the original style DS and the DS Lite has sold 6,449,206 and 17,080,747 units, respectively, in Japan, according to Famitsu.

well, it’s very clear for me that NDS is better than PSP. :P

XBox360 is failure?

Whew, i actually kinda surprised when i read this.

XBox360

Over 18 million Xbox 360s have sold through since the console’s launch in November 2005, but just how many of those are still working? Squaretrade, a company that specializes in providing warranty support to purchasers of electronic goods from various manufacturers, claims 16% of Xbox 360s experience a hardware failure within six to ten months after a warranty purchase. Three out of every five failures were for the infamous “Red Ring of Death” general hardware failure error, a problem often linked to overheating. Read More…

GTA IV PS3, prepare to be released?

 GTA IV

Well, after seeing those HQ picture in GTA IV’s screenshot, i just know that this game will be the best game in PS3.  Grand Theft Auto IV is looking superb. Perhaps even more importantly, it’s looking finished. The millions of eager fans who were disappointed by the game’s postponement can rest easy, because bar a major catastrophe, the game should make its planned April release date. Having played it for two and a half hours at Rockstar’s London offices, we can report that the game is running smoothly, has relatively few bugs, and is as intricately detailed as we’d hope a GTA game would be. In fact, playing five missions and exploring two of the game’s massive districts was almost too much to digest in one sitting, and we left intoxicated by the amount of new characters, areas, and gameplay that it has to offer.

The voice-over work is pretty much finished at this stage, and it’s of the same high quality that we’ve come to expect from the Grand Theft Auto series. Little Jacob’s vocal style makes him pretty hard to understand, but there are subtitles available should you need them. The incidental conversations still help to flesh out the characters in GTAIV, and they’ve become even more well-rounded thanks to a multitude of dialogue recordings. Conversations change depending on how you approach missions, so if you have to repeat them, you’re unlikely to hear the same exchange the second time. We played one assassination mission that took place on a train platform, and the preceding cutscene changed completely when we approached the target from a different angle.

Wii outsells PS3 again!

Just as i predicted from the best game console in 2007, Nintendo Wii become number 1 again in console selling.

According to a report from Reuters quoting figures from Famitsu publisher Enterbrain, 331,627 Wiis were sold in the four weeks to February 24, compared with 89,131 of the PS3. In January the Wii was outselling the PS3 3-to-1, and it now looks set to extend its lead to 4-to-1 in February.

Super Smash Bros., which was released on January 31, sold 800,000 in the first week it went on sale, and has since gone on to sell 1.33 million copies. Wii Fit, which was released on December 1, was also still going strong, and has sold 309,311 copies this month.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is still lagging some way behind the two homegrown consoles, having sold just 14,079 units in February.

Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core!!

I think for now i’ll update my blog with newest game release and its review, so enjoy my first review about Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core.

Zack

Crisis Core drops you in the role of Zack Fair, the elite SOLDIER operative who was only glimpsed in flashback in the original Final Fantasy VII. Like all members of SOLDIER, Zack is a special agent who cleans up after the nefarious Shin-Ra corporation, the organization that owns FFVII’s central city of Midgar, and the one which is quietly sucking dry the life force of the planet. A few hours into the storyline, we haven’t quite figured out where things are going yet. So far, we’ve been chasing after a rogue SOLDIER named Genesis alongside our mentor, a hard but noble agent named Angeal who’s showing plucky young Zack the ropes. Based on what we know about Shin-Ra from Final Fantasy VII, we can’t really blame Genesis for going against the grain, but we’ll see where the story goes from here.

Crisis Core wastes no time pulling at your nostalgic heartstrings. Familiar characters like effete goth heartthrob Sephiroth, spunky little ninja-in-training Yuffie, and austere Tseng of the Turks have gotten plenty of play so far, and we expect a lot more to show up throughout the game. The game’s CG-animated intro movie is highly reminiscent of the original game’s opening sequence (and is also of startlingly high quality, as is all of the CG we’ve seen so far). Even the sound effects that accompany menu selections and such are spot-on re-creations of those in FFVII. Fans will surely be pleased.
